Installing Your Plancha

Installing your Plancha Eno

Just purchased an ENO gas or electric* plancha ? Follow these instructions to set it up and get cooking in no time !

Fuel

ENO’s gas-fuelled planchas are used with propane or natural gas.

To connect the plancha to the gas tank’s pressure regulator, we recommend using a braided steel hose, which doesn’t expire and is very easy to connect. Make sure you’re using the right type of gas regulator (check with your gas retailer).

If using natural gas, you’ll have to order a conversion kit through your retailer or our customer service.

Set up

Before you fire up your gas plancha, adjust the levelling legs to angle the plate based on what you’re going to cook:

  • Angle it forward to help the grease drain off,
  • Leave it flat to cook with the juices.

When cooking greasy food, check if the drip tray is getting full and empty it as needed.

Ignite

Start up your plancha grill and let it preheat on high for a few minutes. It only takes five minutes for the ENO plancha to reach 300°C /573°F.

The plancha must be very hot for food to sear properly, so be careful when children are present and when using utensils that aren’t heat resistant.

Remember that cooking is all about controlling the heat. The plancha’s hottest cooking zone is in the very middle. The temperature gradually decreases as you go toward the edges.
Sear food in the centre, and then place it on the side to let it cook through.
