  • What are the advantages of a griddle compared to a barbecue?
    • Healthy cooking, from meat to dessert

    • Unlike a barbecue, food cooks on a plate without direct contact with the flame. This cooking process prevents food from burning.

    • In addition, using a griddle allows you to drain the fats and cooking juices efficiently thanks to the recovery tray, thus avoiding cooking them on the plate where, on the barbecue, these same fats and cooking juices come into contact with the embers, which can lead to the formation of compounds harmful to your health.

    • • For optimal safety and stability when cooking, each griddle is equipped with non-slip feet and thermocouple safety.
      • Each griddle requires a quick heating time of between 10 and 15 minutes to perfectly grasp all your food.
      • The surface of our enamelled cast iron plates does not retain odors and is very easy to clean, allowing you to cook different foods in series. You will only have to scrape the juices between 2 cooking to be able to move on to the next cooking.
      • Each griddle has a juice recovery tray to easily remove fat
      • To avoid splashing juice on your walls or the floor of your terrace, our Bergerac and Enosign collections offer griddles equipped with high edges that limit splashes.
      • All our gridldes have a power between between 5 and 6.3 Kw for our gas models.

  • Our bonus tips to use your griddle
    • Warm up your griddle before using it

    • Many people make the mistake of not preheating enough their griddle before placing their food which is a mistake! To preheat your griddle is to make sure you don’t grab your food and not get this famous reaction from Maillard (which consists of the caramelization of sugars and amino acids naturally present in meat proteins, in particular allowing to conserve water from food and thus their sweetness) suitable for cooking the griddle and well known to chefs.

    • Heat your plancha between 10 and 15 minutes to grasp the food.

    • Do I need to add oil or other fat on my griddle?

    • Thanks to the natural non-stick properties of enamelled cast iron, you do not need to add oil or other fat to cook your food with a ENO griddle. Nevertheless, for a touch of gourmandise, you always have the possibility to add a little olive oil or butter on the food at the end of cooking to bring an extra note of flavor.
